About Tom Dorr
I was born in Los Angeles, Ca., grew up in Redding and have lived in North Idaho since I have traveled extensively throughout the U.S. (although I have never been to Boston
in the fall) and western Canada. I have met and visited with innumerable people and I have come to the conclusion that, while each of us 8+billion people currently residing on earth are unique creations, we are more similar than we are diƯerent. And yet, except for oxygen and water, there are very few ‘one size fits all’ solutions.

My Core Values
T.R.U.E. Thankful, Respectful, Useful, and Encouraging. I strive to live these core values
everyday and when I find myself missing the mark or coming up short, I use TRUE to get
back on the track I want to be on.
- God created heaven and earth, man and woman, and a way for us to know him as a friend.
- Most people want to do what is good and right. Think about this for a moment – journalists, whose job it is to report bad happenings, have to go in search of their stories; bad and wrong are the exceptions.
- Conflict is Inevitable, Resolution is Attainable. To attain requires effort, work, application, and change.
- Resolution is Peace. Peace and happiness are different. Happiness is a transient feeling; peace is a lasting state.

Why Hire Me?
I help two people in conflict discover, define, and develop their unique resolution because conflict is inevitable but, resolution is attainable.
Attainable means work. Resolution is not stumbled upon; it is discovered by exerting effort and applying energy. Resolution, once discovered, then needs to be defined the same way a rough diamond needs to be cut into a shape that captures its natural beauty. Finally, resolution, unlike a cold stone, then continually develops to match the changing, inevitable conflicts. I help people navigate this path.
I have experienced conflict in my family. I have parents, a sibling, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, a wife (forty-one years and counƟng), five adult children who are all married, and grandchildren. With this many people conflict is not just inevitable, it is perpetual.
I have experienced conflict at work. I have worked for large corporations, small family businesses, sole proprietors, and myself. I have worked as an executive, manager, and laborer. For over ten years I owned my own corporation with forty employees, operating in multiple states.
I have experienced conflict with government. I served in the Idaho House of Representatives for two years. It was here that I first experienced a system designed to anticipate, encourage, and resolve conflict. It was then that I determined to find a way to make the essence of this system available to ordinary, everyday people.
Fairlane Resolution is the culmination of my life’s experiences.
